The Newforest Institute is an educational non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the traditional balance between people, communities, and the land. Newforest serves as a northeast hub for permaculture and maintains a teaching and demonstration facility located on 300 acres of forests, fields, and permaculture gardens in the village of Brooks in mid-coast Maine.

2012 Permaculture Design Certificate Course

Newforest is proud to host a Permaculture Design Course, taught by Julia & Charles Yelton, international permaculture designers and teachers.  This indepth, comprehensive course takes place over 2 week-long sessions, allowing students to experience permaculture over a whole season.

Tuition includes accomodations and delicious home-cooked meals straight from the garden. Students will create their own permaculture designs and will graduate as certified permaculture designers.

May 5, 10-3 pm

May 5, 2012 is the 5 year anniversary of our first Home Again Celebration which marked the beginning of Newforest Institute.  Join us as we again honor the connection between people and the land through stories, music, food and dance. 

Join us at our Home Again celebration as we launch our brand-new membership program!  Your Newforest Institute membership donation serves as your admission to this community festival or $5 for non-members.

Membership Cost: $25 for individuals or $45 for families
